In November 2014, Milliman conducted an online survey of life insurers to get their take on the rider landscape in Asia. Emerging and mature markets were both well represented. The survey results highlight the attractiveness and potential of critical illness riders. The survey also underscores the necessity of developing rider-specific experience studies and analysing the impact of riders on base policyholder behaviour.
