Donal McGinley
Donal McGinley is a consulting actuary in Milliman's Dublin office. He joined the company in 2008.
Experience
Donal’s experience is primarily in the life assurance field in both the Irish domestic and cross-border life assurance markets. He has worked with the Actuarial Function for a range of companies, including unit-linked and variable annuity writers. He has worked with both direct writers and reinsurers.
Donal’s expertise includes valuations and financial reporting, developing, maintaining, and validating actuarial modelling systems, capital modelling, model validation, financial projections, and other consulting work.
He has designed, developed, and reviewed numerous financial projection models in Python, Prophet, and Excel on both a deterministic and stochastic basis.
Donal has been involved in a range of projects, including M&A transactions and portfolio transfers. He has worked on numerous model validations across a range of different types of models, including Solvency II reporting models, ALM models, and Economic Scenario Generators.
He has written papers and delivered presentations to various industry audiences on topics such as data science, machine learning, and actuarial modelling using the Python programming language.
He is also a member of the Data Analytics subcommittee of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.
