Sharad Arora is a consultant in the Windsor, CT office of Milliman. He has more than 25 years of experience providing OPEB services to a wide range of clients. He possesses strong handson skills and in-depth knowledge of health plans and retiree medical benefits.
Experience
Sharad is responsible for implementation and conversion of OPEB plans, detailed checking of the valuations and financial reporting calculations, analysis of gains and losses, and identification of opportunities to improve plan operations. Sharad has worked on more than 300 OPEB plans and provided consulting on various issues, including cost drivers, accounting implications, plan startups and terminations, plan redesign, and projections.
Sharad is an active member of CT GFOA. His connection with dozens of finance directors has given him indepth knowledge of virtually every aspect of OPEB plans in Connecticut. Knowing the key drivers and pain points of retiree medical plans for numerous communities gives him a unique perspective that he is able to share with stakeholders.
