
Kevin Pierce
Kevin Pierce is a principal and consulting actuary with the Hartford office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2016.
Experience
Kevin leads strategic projects across a wide variety of healthcare clients. Kevin turns insights into action, using his deep subject matter expertise along with lateral, strategic thinking to identify gaps, develop solutions, and implement changes. Kevin also has a passion for helping clients navigate, digest, and strategize for health policy changes. Kevin’s primary areas of expertise include:
- Enterprise health plan strategy and financing
- Pharmacy strategy and analytics
- Medicare strategy and innovation
Managed Care
Kevin has a deep understanding of health plan strategy, financing, and operations. He works with health plan clients to assess capabilities, identify gaps, and develop solutions that drive meaningful value. Kevin has an in-depth understanding of risk-based capital (RBC) and capital allocation to prioritize health plan resources. He also has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions and other related healthcare finance topics.
Pharmacy
Kevin works with stakeholders throughout the pharmacy supply chain, aiming to simplify industry dynamics to develop and drive effective strategies. Kevin’s provides strategic insights to payers (health plans and pharmacy benefit managers), drug manufacturers, pharmacies, and patient advocacy groups, among other client types. Kevin provides support with contracting, go-to-market strategy, pharmacy underwriting, market access, and pharmacy analytics and forecasting, to name a few.
Medicare
Kevin is a thought leader in the Medicare Advantage market, with a concentration in Medicare Part D. Kevin has led the Part D bid development and strategy for both national and regional health plans, supporting both the individual and employer group waiver plan (EGWP) markets. Kevin led the development of Milliman’s Part D strategy playbook after the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act and continues to develop innovative solutions and provide critical strategic guidance for his Medicare clients.
